Our Review

Written by AnimeReview Team
I am absolutely buzzing with excitement for the upcoming anime, *Fate/strange Fake*! As a long-time fan of the *Fate* universe, every new installment is cause for celebration, but this one feels particularly special. With A-1 Pictures, a studio known for their fantastic work on previous *Fate* projects like *Fate/Apocrypha* and various *Grand Order* adaptations, at the helm, I’m already confident that we're in for a visual treat. The very title, *strange Fake*, hints at something delightfully unconventional, and I can't wait to see how this new narrative twists and turns the established lore.

What truly makes the premise of *Fate/strange Fake* so incredibly interesting to me is the idea of an "imperfect copy" of a Holy Grail War. The synopsis describes a US-based organization attempting to replicate the Fuyuki ritual, but failing in crucial ways—resulting in the loss of the Saber class and, even more intriguingly, the summoning of "strange Servants" due to a blurred definition of heroism. This immediately sets it apart from other *Fate* stories. I'm incredibly eager to witness the unique Servants that will be summoned under these distorted rules, and to see how their abilities and personalities will clash in unexpected ways. It promises a fresh take on the familiar Master-Servant dynamics.

The political machinations and espionage elements also have me completely hooked. The plot involving Rohngall and Faldeus from the Mage's Association, culminating in Faldeus's audacious declaration that their "real" Holy Grail War has been in development and that he wishes to "advertise" it, is pure gold. This isn't just about a battle for the Grail; it’s about power plays, betrayals, and a direct challenge to the authority of the Clock Tower itself. I'm envisioning complex strategies, double-crosses, and a deep sense of mystery surrounding the true motives behind this "fake" war. The missing Saber class also forces a change in the traditional dynamics, which I think will lead to some incredibly creative and tense battles.

My hopes for *Fate/strange Fake* are sky-high. I'm really looking forward to A-1 Pictures delivering the high-octane action sequences and fluid animation that the *Fate* franchise is renowned for. Beyond the spectacle, I'm hoping for a deeply engaging story that explores the complexities of heroism, identity, and the moral ambiguities of war. I want to see well-developed Masters with compelling backstories and Servants who defy expectations, offering unique interpretations of historical and mythological figures. A strong balance of intense combat, character drama, and intelligent lore expansion would make this an instant classic.

Ultimately, *Fate/strange Fake* is firmly planted at the very top of my watchlist because it promises to be a bold and inventive evolution of the *Fate* series. The concept of a distorted Grail War with unconventional Servants, combined with the intricate political intrigue and the proven animation prowess of A-1 Pictures, makes it an absolute must-see. I simply cannot wait for this unique take on the Holy Grail War to finally make its debut.

Synopsis

This upcoming anime, *Fate/strange Fake*, is poised to deliver a thrilling new chapter in the beloved Fate universe, promising a fresh and unconventional take on the Holy Grail War. We can expect to be transported to the American city of Snowfield, a distinct departure from the familiar Fuyuki, where a US-based organization has dared to attempt its own ritual. This isn't just another Grail War; it's an "imperfect copy" based on data from Fuyuki's Third Holy Grail War, setting the stage for twists and turns from the very beginning. The premise immediately grabs attention by introducing a new faction and a unique setting for this epic conflict of mages and heroic spirits.

What truly makes the premise exciting is the deliberate imperfection of this recreated ritual. The story promises a Holy Grail War that has fundamentally deviated from the norm, most notably by losing the Saber class entirely – a monumental shift that will undoubtedly redefine combat strategies and Servant compositions. Even more intriguing is the blurring of the definition of a "hero," which

They really nailed Gil's entrance and Enkidu's design! Can't believe how much they packed into one special. Hope they take their time with the rest of the story, especially with how many crazy servants are still to come.

That little girl with the monster was kinda cute, but also super creepy! 😂 This show is definitely wild, perfect for just kicking back and enjoying some cool fights. Pretty good stuff.

While the action was flashy, I felt like the pacing was a bit off, trying to cram too much in. Hope the full series gives more room for character development and world-building instead of just spectacle.
