Our Review

Written by AnimeReview Team
I am absolutely buzzing with excitement for the upcoming anime, *Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen - Ryoushu no Youjo*! As a massive fan of the *Ascendance of a Bookworm* series, I've been eagerly awaiting news on the next installment, and the announcement of "Ryoushu no Youjo" has me incredibly hyped. This series has consistently delivered a unique and heartwarming experience, and I can't wait to dive back into Myne's ever-expanding world.

What makes the premise of *Honzuki no Gekokujou* so captivating is its brilliant twist on the popular isekai genre. Instead of becoming a hero or a villain, our protagonist, a book-loving college student, is reborn into a fantasy world where books are a luxury almost unheard of. Her unwavering, almost obsessive, desire to be surrounded by books – even if she has to make them herself from scratch – is both endearing and incredibly inspiring. This new part, "Ryoushu no Youjo" (Lord's Daughter), promises to elevate Myne's journey to a whole new level, as she navigates higher society and even more complex challenges in her relentless pursuit of literature. I'm fascinated to see how her innovative spirit will continue to disrupt and improve the world around her, one book at a time.

The news that Wit Studio is behind this adaptation is incredibly exciting! Known for their stunning animation and meticulous attention to detail in previous works, I have high hopes that they will bring the vibrant world of *Honzuki no Gekokujou* to life with even more polish and visual flair. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing how they animate the intricate processes of book-making and the various magical elements that Myne encounters. The light novel source material is renowned for its rich world-building and the thoughtful progression of Myne's character, and I'm hoping Wit Studio will maintain that high standard, giving us a faithful yet visually spectacular adaptation that truly captures the essence and charm of the original story.

This anime is definitely at the top of my watchlist because it offers such a refreshing blend of fantasy, slice-of-life, and an underlying message about the power of knowledge and perseverance. I'm hoping to see Myne (now Rosemyne) continue to grow, not just as a book creator, but as a leader and an influential figure in her new society. I can't wait to witness her overcome new obstacles, forge new alliances, and, of course, find new and creative ways to produce even more books! The combination of her fierce determination, the intricate political landscape she's now a part of, and the sheer joy of watching her slowly transform an entire culture through literature makes this an unmissable series for me.

Synopsis

Get ready for another captivating chapter in the world of books and ambition, as the highly anticipated anime, *Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen - Ryoushu no Youjo*, prepares to grace our screens! This upcoming anime promises to delve deeper into the intricate world we've come to love, focusing on the next pivotal stage of Myne, now Rozemyne's, journey. Fans who have followed her remarkable rise from a book-loving commoner to a nascent force in a world devoid of her beloved paper will undoubtedly be eager to witness what new challenges and triumphs await her in this exciting new arc.

The premise itself is incredibly exciting. Having successfully navigated the treacherous waters of the commoner world and the Temple, Rozemyne is now poised to enter the noble society as the adopted daughter of the Lord of Ehrenfest. The very subtitle, "Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen" (I'll Stop At Nothing to Become a Librarian), immediately sets the stage for Rozemyne's unyielding resolve. We can expect her relentless pursuit of books to collide head-on with the strictures and expectations of noble life, creating a fascinating dynamic where her commoner ingenuity and overwhelming drive will either revolutionize or disrupt the ancient traditions of the aristocracy.

This next installment of *Honzuki no Gekokujou* is sure to offer a wealth of new experiences and character interactions. As the "Ryoushu no Youjo" (Lord's Adopted Daughter), Rozemyne will gain access to resources and influence previously unimaginable, but also face greater responsibilities and political intrigue. We anticipate meeting a host of new characters, from potential allies to formidable rivals, all of whom will play a role in shaping her destiny and, inevitably, the future of Ehrenfest. The story promises to explore how her unique perspective, combined with her unwavering dedication to books, will continue to impact the world around her, perhaps even introducing more of the "modern" inventions she's been so keen to develop.

The series has always excelled at its meticulous world-building and the charmingly tenacious spirit of its protagonist, and this upcoming anime is expected to elevate those qualities even further. We can look forward to seeing Rozemyne mature, not just as a noble, but as a person, as she grapples with her new identity and the greater responsibilities that come with it. The deeper exploration of noble society, its magic, and its politics will undoubtedly add rich layers to the already complex narrative.

With its compelling premise, beloved protagonist, and the promise of even greater stakes, *Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen - Ryoushu no Youjo* is undeniably at the top of my must-watch list.

OMG, this season is just peak Honzuki! Myne's political maneuvering even as a child is just genius, and the world-building keeps getting deeper. Can't wait for more noble shenanigans! ✨

While I generally enjoy the series, the pacing felt a bit slow in the middle episodes, especially during some of the lengthy political explanations. The animation quality also dipped slightly during some of the less action-heavy scenes, which is a minor disappointment for such a great story.

They're doing such a fantastic job adapting the noble arc! I'm so excited for anime-onlys to see *that* reveal with the High Bishop later on. The voice acting for Ferdinand continues to be spot-on, exactly how I imagined him from the manga.

Honestly, this show is just so wholesome and cozy. Myne's constant struggle to just make books is hilarious, and her interactions with Ferdinand are always a highlight. It's my go-to for a relaxing evening.

Okay, I just started this show because everyone raves about it, and wow, Myne is so smart! But can someone explain again what exactly a 'Feybeast' is, and how the mana system works with the noble families? It's a lot to take in!
