Our Review

Written by AnimeReview Team
I am absolutely buzzing with excitement for the upcoming sequel to *Akatsuki no Yona*! The announcement of *Akatsuki no Yona (Zoku-hen)* has been a dream come true for fans like me who have been eagerly awaiting more of Yona's incredible journey. I honestly can't believe it's finally happening, and my anticipation levels are through the roof. This is easily one of my most anticipated anime releases, and I'm counting down the days until it airs.

What makes this premise so incredibly interesting, and why I'm so drawn to it, is the continuation of Yona's remarkable transformation. The original series brilliantly portrayed her evolution from a naive, sheltered princess to a determined, skilled warrior princess seeking to reclaim her kingdom. I loved watching her gather her loyal companions, the legendary Dragon Warriors, and confront the harsh realities of her world. The blend of high fantasy adventure, gripping political intrigue, and heartwarming character development, all wrapped up with a beautifully unfolding romance, is truly captivating. I'm especially keen to see how she continues to grow as a leader and how her relationships with Hak and the others deepen.

As a huge admirer of Mizuho Kusanagi's original manga, I have incredibly high hopes for this sequel. The source material is rich with further adventures, character arcs, and emotional depth that I can't wait to see animated. While specific studio details for this *Zoku-hen* haven't been fully revealed, I'm really hoping that the team behind the stunning animation and voice acting of the first season returns, or at least that the visual quality remains just as breathtaking. I'm crossing my fingers for more fluid action sequences, expressive character designs, and a soundtrack that perfectly complements the epic scale of the story. I'm also desperate to see more of the unique culture and diverse landscapes of Kouka Kingdom come to life.

More than anything, I'm hoping for a continuation that truly honors the spirit of the original and dives deeper into the complex relationships and overarching plot. I'm eager to witness more of Yona's tactical decisions, Hak's unwavering loyalty, and the distinct personalities of the Dragon Warriors shining through in new challenges. The prospect of further developing the romantic tension between Yona and Hak is also something I'm incredibly excited about, as their dynamic is one of the strongest elements of the series. This sequel is absolutely at the top of my watchlist because *Akatsuki no Yona* is a story that champions resilience, courage, and finding your own strength in the face of adversity, and I simply cannot wait to embark on this next chapter with Yona and her companions.

Seriously, why isn't this show talked about more?! It has everything – adventure, good humor, and a genuinely strong female lead. Plus, the dragons are all hilarious in their own way! 😂

Honestly, 'Zoku-hen' as just OVAs still stings. We need a full season to properly adapt the Earth Tribe and Water Tribe arcs! So much amazing character development and action was left out from the manga.

Yona's growth from a spoiled princess to a badass warrior is just so inspiring! 🥰 And the chemistry between her and Hak? Undeniable! I just rewatched the whole series again and it still holds up!
