Our Review
Written by AnimeReview TeamThe story, oh my goodness, the story! It's a beautiful blend of romance and sci-fi, centered around Nan-young's dream of following in her astronaut mother's footsteps and venturing to Mars. The emotional weight of her mother's disappearance, coupled with her burning desire to explore space, immediately hooked me. And then Jay enters the picture! A musician who repairs retro sound instruments? Come on, that's just pure anime magic! Their connection through the old turntable Nan-young inherited from her mom felt so authentic and heartwarming. I found myself completely invested in their budding romance, knowing that Nan-young was about to embark on a potentially dangerous mission. The stakes were high, and I was on the edge of my seat, rooting for them both.
Visually, "I Byeol-e Pil-yohan" is stunning. Climax Studio really outdid themselves! The animation is crisp and fluid, and the character designs are so expressive. The scenes of space, especially Mars, were breathtakingly beautiful. And let's not forget the music! Jay's melodies, woven into the story, added so much depth and emotion. It was a symphony of sight and sound that enhanced the entire viewing experience. Honestly, the music alone made me want to watch it again!
Overall, "I Byeol-e Pil-yohan" is a must-watch for anyone who loves a touching romance with a sci-fi twist. It's a short but incredibly sweet journey that explores themes of dreams, loss, and the power of human connection. I went in expecting a cute little story, but I came out feeling deeply moved. Even though it's just one episode, it packs a serious emotional punch! If you're looking for something that will leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling and maybe a few happy tears, definitely give this one a try. You won't regret it!

Synopsis
Okay, everyone, let me tell you about an anime that's been tugging at my heartstrings lately: 'I Byeol-e Pil-yohan,' which I think translates to 'Needed by a Star' or 'Necessary to a Star.' The setup? Nan-young is a brilliant scientist with stars in her eyes and a deep ache in her heart. You see, her astronaut mom went missing during a Mars mission years ago, leaving Nan-young with a burning desire to follow in her footsteps and, hopefully, find some trace of her. I'm already hooked, right? Space mysteries and family legacies? Sign me up!
The story really takes off (pun intended!) when Nan-young gets selected for a new Mars probe project. It's the opportunity of a lifetime, the chance to finally search for her mom! But before she blasts off into the great unknown, fate steps in in the form of Jay, a quirky musician with a knack for restoring vintage audio equipment. It all starts with an old turntable Nan-young inherited from her mother, and trust me, their connection is more than just shared love of retro sound. Something tells me Jay is going to be more than just a friend as she prepares for this massive journey. I’m so ready to watch Nan-young chase her dreams and maybe, just maybe, find what she's been looking for all along. Get ready for some feels, people!

The animation quality is kinda inconsistent... some scenes are gorgeous, others look like they rushed it. Needs more polish.
OMG, I just finished the first episode and I'M ALREADY OBSESSED! Byeol is so precious!
They skipped a *lot* of stuff from chapter 12, hopefully they'll flesh it out later. Still enjoying it though!
Is it just me, or does Byeol's grandpa remind anyone else of a grumpy cat? LOL
